Community Harvest Network is on a mission to create real life change
Help Local Families Thrive
40% of food insecure families earn too much money to qualify for federal or state relief, such as SNAP. You can help stand in the gap so that our neighbors have nutritious food to put on their table.

“Southern Maryland holds a special place in my heart, and our incredible community is a big part of why I feel this way. Together, we filled about five donation bins to help our neighbors in need.”

Your Impact
No one should have to choose between feeding their kids and paying their electric bill. With your help, they won’t have to. In 2024, we distributed over 1.6 million pounds of food to over 50 feeding programs in Southern Maryland.
Right here in Southern Maryland
Food insecurity in Southern Maryland is real, and you can be a part of making lasting change for our neighbors.
- 47 million Americans face food insecurity.
- In Maryland, 1 in 8 people face hunger and 1 in 6 children face hunger. (Feeding America)
- Four of the five counties with the largest gaps between the cost of a meal and the maximum SNAP benefit were rural.
So much more than just groceries
Together, we are creating permanent solutions to help move people from dependency to self-sufficiency.
The Food Bank
Through our Food Bank, we supply food and other resources to partner feeding programs throughout Southern Maryland, such as food pantries and backpack programs.
Culinary Training
This free program introduces individuals with learning differences to culinary fundamentals while also integrating workplace readiness skills needed to gain and retain employment.
End Hunger Month
The Maryland State Senate and Calvert County Board of Commissioners officially declared October as End Hunger In Calvert County Month.
